With the slowing US economy and the end to war nearing the growth prospects for UTX look gloomy for the next 2-4 years.


I do not see a any growth coming from Carrier, Chubb, Otis, P&W and Sikorsky in the near future.

As goes this company,so will the rest of the aero-space related industries. As soon as Boeing receives it's final approval of the 787 program the rest of the related companies will rachet up to meet the other component items. Look for strong increase in their values as the economy turns around. No short time frame as we come out of this Depression. Two to four years @ least....credit is hard to come by to bolster this sleepy economy. War mongers are the main cause


to our slow recovery. Volunteers,your doing a great job defending your country,but your being played a sucker by your governments decision to continue on a path to no good end. More young people will be and are influnced by the older leaders. The only outcome in the Middle East will be more tears and a mission lost. Too bad we can't learn from the past... It's all about the money and you @ I arn't worth much to Wall Streat and the big Banking institutions that finance these so called adventures to free the world. Just look @ where the real threat to the USA is and where they came from????

I had UTX on my watchlist since 7-9-09. It is currently beating the market by about 11 points since then. I guess I should've put it in my portfolio instead of my watchlist.
I'll take the 2.3% dividend and run with it. They are growing their dividend by 16% over the last five years and their payout ratio is only 37%.
With a debt to equity ratio of 52%, debt is not a problem for them.
They just received a contract worth $1.7 Billion from the Air Force, so business is still humming along nicely.
