I am fully aware that Toyota's brand is built on reliability and owner loyalty. I'm fully aware that the gas pedal issue has put the brakes on to Toyota's sales in a huge manner and that other car companies will take advantage of the problem.

So why the upthumb? Toyota's gas pedal issue is not uni...More

Recall issues are overblown in the media. This is a short term pick, probably less than a year to bounce back. I still prefer Honda long term as you can see, but buying into this panic now while it is fresh and frantic should reap rewards.

It's a good time to buy this very strong company. This being Toyota's first sizeable recall ever, I don't imagine that they won't recover. I may wait a little longer before buying this stock with actual money.

As one with an engineering background, I find the idea that the acceleration problems are due to floor mats and sticky bushings to be..."dubious".

Between the lawsuits, the congressional inquiry, and the widening reports that electronics might be the heart of the problem, I'm betting big against TM. I might be wrong, but something smells really bad here.

Toyota has shown they're not perfect, but I still love my highlander and will still buy toyotas. The Japanese carmaker ha to much pride to let this happen again (at least for a "year or so").
