This is a small community bank in upstate NY that is ripe for a takeover. The well established price in takeovers of this type is between 2 and 2.5X book value. With a share price around $12.50 and a book value of $9.23, the premium should be between 48% and 85%. The bank is not eligible to be sold for another 18 months, but I imagine some time around January of 2008 the rumers will begin to heat up and a substantial portion of that premium will be recognized.
