CAPS Rating:
**

An online travel company that offers its customers a range of travel services, including the opportunity to purchase airline tickets, hotel rooms, car rentals, vacation packages, cruises and destination services.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

The market amazed me in its reaction to PCLN earnings. I call this incredible -- PCLN comes out with outstanding earnings, trounces street expectations, raises guidelines and stock takes a dive! I am told that is because European growth was not at 90% but at 80%! What??? I think this is purely the p...More

A $4.7 billion dollar website travel agency? 52 week high going into US war led recession / depression? DON'T BE STUPID!

A lot of people want to get the H--- out of Dodge right now. Might as well try to profit from their travel plans.

It dropped too much. Their service is still great, and demand for it will come up again soon.

Time to dive back into Priceline. BOTEV: $244M FCF x 27% growth = $6.6B valuation. This one should be trading some 60% higher than it is. Additional pluses: In a weak economy, people will be shopping for travel bargains, and this one has great name recognition. Minuses: In a weak economy, people may not be able to afford to travel even *with* a bargain. Also, many more days does Capt. Kirk have on this Earth... and who can they get to shill for 'em when he gets beamed up?

The market amazed me in its reaction to PCLN earnings. I call this incredible -- PCLN comes out with outstanding earnings, trounces street expectations, raises guidelines and stock takes a dive! I am told that is because European growth was not at 90% but at 80%! What??? I think this is purely the play of market manipulators. I wonder just how many shares you need to have in hand to sink a stock after earnings by manipulating the market. In the longer run this can't hold because big funds will step into buy and bring PCLN back up. With oil down and airlines rallying it is just a matter of time before people realize the value PCLN brings to the table and get PCLN to rally!
