Nintendo Co., Ltd (ADR) (NTDOY.PK)

CAPS Rating:
*****

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Reasons to buy:

A) Video games experience little or no contraction in recessions, Nintendo's stock price has experienced a 60% decline since 2008 and has yet to gain any of it back while the market has gained back 20% from it's low.

B) It's a household name and continues to offer new innovative pr...More

One triiick pony. Sony and MS have other divisions to take it through lean times. Nintendo's approach, appeal to the casual gamer then attempt to shaft that gamer by making him buy all these ridiculous control adapters is not sustainable

Latest NPD numbers are very positive. Expect a turnaround for the video game industry in H1 2010 on a strong library of games for the PS3 and 360. The Wii and DS will simply ride the wave of consumer demand.

Wii was HUGE this Christmas! Most stores and online retailers not only ran out of the consels but also all of the major games as well. This should make for a huge quarter. The Wii appeals to many casual games and is priced right to sell.

As the stock price goes down the dividend goes up. Thats what I like growth and dividend. I expect this to start coming up over the next year or so, and then outperform the market for the next "5 plus years".
