Yeah, I'm still stubbornly shorting the energy patch on my slowing-growth thesis. A terrible bet so far, but it's going to take decent economic data to change my mind.

Solid performing brand over time that paid the price for oil spill, but should be nothing but UPside in 2012

Looking at immense growth for FY2012. Based on future estimates and projections, this is pretty undervalued and should make a good deal for the coming year.

The BP Macondo disaster has been a disaster for deep sea drilling in the GOM, and for NE, despite the fact that they had nothing to do with it. The Feds have stifled the permitting process, and downtime for (possibly imaginary) subsea issues have killed earnings. The industry is finally learning to deal with the Fed permatorium, and Macondo will finally be in the rear view mirror in 2012. The stock trades at 1.1 x tangible book as we start 2012, and has several new drillships and high-spec jackups scheduled for delivery in the next three years. Earning will approach $4 in 2012. I don't see Brent trading below $100 for an extended period, so dayrates will continue to go higher.
