Why the "smart money" is investing in MWA: This stock regularly traded for $14 plus before the financial crisis in 2008. There is an enormous amount of water treatment and distribution infrastructure that needs to be upgraded in this country, and… More

Debt....What Muni has the cash to upgrade their water system? I think this may outperform in the VERY long term, but underperform for now.

This stock price is garbage right now, but lets gets serious about the future. It is down 87% from it's first day on the stock market because municipalities are trying to cope with budget constraints, and one of the things they aren't spending money is upgrading water infrastructure. Right now Mueller is basically surviving and waiting for clarity in the bigger macro issues. On the flip side, as long as Mueller doesn't stays afloat ..it stands to be a great buy. Eventually municipalities will need to upgrade their infrastructure because most of the infrastructure was built soon after WWII (http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/01/20/water.main.infrastructure/index.html). It also has never missed a dividend payment since it first started paying it in November 2006. I consider the 3.25% yield to be maybe too big given the circumstances, but who doesn't like compound interest. It's like getting two birds with one stone.

It finally got back down to where I wanted it for a longer term hold.

In light, will watch and wait for more buying opportunities.

Will take small bites because this is not going anywhere real quick.

I still think they have a lot of future potential.

JMO and worth exactly what I am charging for it.
