Things have turned around at Microsoft. Windows 7 is a hit, I've been using it for a few months and the productive increase justifies an upgrade. The Xbox 360 is the best value gaming console on the market. The new Zune and Zune marketplace are actually better than Apple's offering. Expect the next ...More

On one hand I agree with the philosophy of many tech prognositcators that our PC hardware is fast enough to surf the web and the "cloud" is where the computing action is. On the other hand, the propogation of digital photo and video and the need to edit them on a decent pc is a driver for hardware upgrades. A lot of people need horsepower to post-process the output from their new digital camera's and HD video cams. Good luck editing a 100MB video clip "in the cloud". The upload/download bandwidth is not there yet. People need horsepower on their own PC to do this. Mac is growing but still only ~5% of total PC's.
