McAfee, Inc. (MFE)

Going to start the greenthumb today, even though this may be a short-term underperformer; in real life would initiate small position and add on the way down. Admittedly, MFE is trading at a hefty multiple to TTM earnings. AND they added some leverage to complete a recent acquisition--neither one what you would think of as positive signals.

But I think the debt was just a way to keep MFE's massive cash position intact, and if you think about it, a company with lots of cash at hand would do well to leverage in this environment, as a hedge against inflation (I feel like Chicken Little talking about inflation...except in this case the sky won't be falling until the middle of the next decade). But back to the cash on the books--I think we have a budding dividend-payer on our hands, and I'll look to start receiving those checks in the next couple of years.

I think this stock definitely warrants some further research; if we can parse out their accounting wrangling, I think we'll see they're digging in for the long haul.
