KB Home (KBH)

CAPS Rating:
*

Homebuilder with domestic operations in the following regions: West Coast, Southwest, Central and Southeast. Also provides mortgage banking services to the majority of its domestic homebuyers through its wholly-owned subsidiary, KB Home Mortgage Company.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

KB Homes earnings showed improvement year over year and quarter over quarter.... KB Homes is stealing marketshare and sales from bankrupt private builders... they will be one of the survivors.... public builders control only 20% of total homebuilding... KB Homes national market share is probably 1-...More

fundamentals?
inflated profits
government subsidies and tax credits wear out
high employment

comment: i wonder given the current unemployment situation in the US, how can people continue paying for their houses? with lots of foreclosures still lingering, the government's extended credit deadlines for many homes will soon expire...

technicals show double top, resistance

This stock has actually gone up over the past year, a hard thing for homebuilding companies to do. If they havent it appears they will soon break through the market average. It they do break through I think they will have a good several months how ever watch the P/E ratio as it might me a sign of danger.
