The Home Depot, Inc. (HD)

**

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

With new construction is severely lagging, one would think fixing up existing houses and upgrades (rather than buying up) would push HD shares higher. Fact is, most people are hunkered down trying to stash money away in case things get worse--a likely outcome. This will keep most retailers' business at a reduced level for, perhaps, years to come.

Good long term business and franchise to own. Current dividend yield is attractive and I am willing to trust the operational efficiency initiatives and customer service improvement initiatives the leadership team is working on at HD. And lastly, housing conditions will improve........
