No debt. Have traded this co. several times. I view this as a decent trading stock, you prob. won't make a fortune, but you won't lose one either.

The stock currently trades at an extremely low MEV-TO-EBITDA ratio south of 3.0x; has NO debt and a war chest of cash. At current oil prices, it can fully fund its aggressive 2012 capital program from internally generated funds. Too much emphasis was recently placed on a dry hole in Colombia: on average slightly more than half will be dry; this is the nature of exploration drilling and should not have been a negative surprise. On the plus side, it's discovery, named Moqueta, continues to grow as the find was and continues to be further delineated through additional wells. Cash balance should also show a large increase when the company reports year-end earnings as the Colombian government's oil company, Ecopetrol, reduces its payables balances (ie: Gran Tierra's receivable balances) at year-end. Overall, very little downside with this Canadian-based play; great upside with Moqueta and it's recent foray into Brazil with seasoned operators.
