Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:GPRE)

After recent discussion of ethanols effiency (1btu in to 1.42btu's out) and effect upon food supplys (negligible) this company seems like the best opportunity to take advantage of the increasing costs of petroleum based energy. They have been buying other ethanol plants out of bankruptcyand borrowing under 6% to do it. The biggest risk is failing to hedge against crop losses and increased inputs, as compared to ethanol sale prices.
The loss of the Federal subsidy is less likely, but ethanol costs less than petroleum at the gas pumps even without the subsidy.
