Revenues down, still costs 40% more to produce their product than what they can sell for, so big losses even before R&D costs, burning through cash, this is a big gamble that it will one day prove viable. They keep selling more equity, further diluting shareholders. High risk, not so high reward..? I'll leave this feel good story to other investors...

At the last EPRI boondoggle I listened to a guy from the department of energy pushing for fuel cells. Very convincing, sounds great. There is no interest, at all, any time soon. Eventually it will be a neat technology, but not soon enough to save these companies.

With all the increasing attention to solar energy, wind energy, and other clean energy sources, fuel cells are starting to finally get more attention as one of the players in the near-mid-term future of clean energy.

The world isnt quite ready for a fuel cell grid, but oil will surely increase in price and the scramble for alternatives will intensify. I think fcel will stay flat for the nearterm, but long term it's prime to succeed if they brand themselves correctly and create the market that they play in. After all, there arent very many commercial and industrial fuel cell producers in the world.
