Good defensive play with some growth potential. I like the strong dividend, consistent history of earnings, and their exposure to nuclear power. With the S&P nearing 1100, I believe it has a reasonable shot at outperforming.

Entergy has lost more than 27% of its share price over the last year, despite some really excellent profit reports.They are trying to sell off the Nuclear power unit located in the NE and having trouble with NY State and VT due to issues with… More

I like Entergy's plan to divest its transmission business and pay shareholders a special dividend with part of the proceeds. The spending necessary to run the transmission business would have been a drag on ETR's results going forward.
