I've been playing drillers in the wake of the Gulf mess. ESV is a real-life position that I purchased a month or so ago. I was happy to see recently that famous investor David Einhorn is also on onboard with Ensco.Deej

for feeding our oil addiction: offshore drilling, and, most notably, deepwater offshore drilling.

ESV just reported earnings beating the street estimates. They have a solid balance sheet and are just starting to realize synergies from their recent acquisition. Their dividend payout % is a little high, but I think that will correct itself as the merger wraps up. Despite the desire for clean energy, we're not going to stop needing drilling companies anytime soon. They have a huge amount of rigs and are the second largest. Looking for them to hit street price targets near $70 in about 18 months.
