The reports of coal's death are greatly exaggerated. It's here to stay, will grow while the economy starts picking up, and Peabody is best in breed.

bearish over the short term due to:~coal stocks usually trade at 8-11 times p/e, current levels r untenable~demand for clean energy,coal is the dirtiest energy, demand for coal comes only when all other energy sources r maxed out~bye-bye harsh… More

Not priced too bad at todays P/E of 12. I bought it in 2006 and am down 30%. I love the industry and love the company but there is just no shareholder return. Company appears to be growing through acquisitions but has a pathetic div. yield of 1% at 12% payout ratio and the stock price is not doing squat. I am thinking seriously about dumping it.
