BP plc (ADR) (BP)

CAPS Rating:
*****

An oil company, whose activities include oil and natural gas exploration, oil supply and trading as well as refining and marketing, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of petrochemicals and marketing and trading of natural gas.

Rating a stock in CAPS consists of three components:

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

They All took a beating on Euro Zone PIIG news and energy price news more than fundamentals and I expect them to bounce back 2 to 3 dollars each in the next few weeks they are also good dividend plays right now as this down blip raises their yield up nicely if you get
in now. One caveat would be watch closely what the market does on open Monday and make a go no go decision

A PE of just under 8? AND a high dividend?
Buy in on dips like this.

While the recent price of energy has been on a brief down-turn related to the recent Depression late 2007 to Q3,2008, the long-term trend in energy prices is still up. Companies in the energy sector including British Petroleum will benefit. The stock is a BUY!

This stock has been oversold recently, and I find it extremely difficult to believe it won't rebound. Add in an extremely nice and sustainable dividend, and this is an easy pick
