As new buyers' purchase less real estate over the next year, REITs like ASN and AVB are well positioned to reap the benefits. There will likely be more demand for rentals, rents will rise and these REITs will benefit.

High end apartments in an albeit improving economy is the wrong strategy. Those that can afford their rents can also buy their home. Look for vacancies to increase in Q2 and Q3 and the dividend to be cut in Q410 as well as 2011. Take the handsome… More
