Are you serious? This company is only months away from a chapter 13 re-organization. There is no way they can correct this ship in time. The consumer is years away from a recovery and they have already had to use 1/2 their credit line! Unless you own put options this company is going to cost you...More

The good ship ANN is way too heavy to stay afloat. The gross profit is about 50% of revenues, but the crew's SG&A expenses consistently eats up the gross profit so there is nothing left for the the passengers ( a.k.a. shareholders). Unless this ship's officers start running a tighter ship, I suggest that you stay near a life boat.

Stop looking at the short term. The brand is still alive and well recognized. This company reached positive earnings, had revenue growth in the past quarter, and has 134 million in cash. Ann Taylor is closing unprofitable stores and restructuring its corporate structure. In the short term, earnings per share will remain low. But with its huge cash reserves, look for higher earnings in 2010 as the company opens stores in better areas and emerges from the recession with a more profitable corporate structure.

Take this bear rally as a gift and GET OUT! Twice the expected analyst loss.......change it's name to Ann "Titanic" Taylor.
