Amount of debt appears to be very high even compared to other multi-family REITs. Bulk of apartments are located in Michigan and Ohio, two states likely to bear brunt of automaker fallout. Dividend also appears likely to come down.

AEC consistently has interest expenses that are about one third more than their operating income.
